who work in collaboration with our core team on demand. LRC's research
attorneys are honors graduates who have practiced law in major law firms and corporate
law departments throughout the United States.
LRC's online legal research group was founded in 1985 as a traditional print publisher.
In the early 1990s, the publication platform migrated to the electronic collection
and distribution of court opinions and other primary legal research materials under
the VersusLaw brand. In 1995, VersusLaw was among the first web-based legal content
providers to electronically publish opinions from the U.S. Supreme Court, the Federal
Circuit Court of Appeals, and State Appellate Courts. Today, we leverage the power
of technology to provide legal practitioners, government and business professionals,
and consumers with access to current, extensive, low-cost/high-value, and easy-to-use
legal research.
The strategic vision of LRC is to remain the nation's premier provider of outsourced
legal research services, culturally committed to operational excellence, innovation,
and value. In addition to continuously improving technological infrastructure, bandwidth,
and accessibility, LRC has focused recent development efforts on repository design,
data tagging, citation references, hyperlinking, and search engine and citator tools
to deliver state-of-the-art search and retrieval functionality. VersusLaw supports
multiple generations of users with a system of language,
Boolean, proximity, citation, and field-based search protocols.
LRC's strategic plan includes expansion of our customer base, research content,
and technological services to help enhance productivity. LRC is aggressively
pursuing both U.S. and international content licensing arrangements to expand the
research resources available to our customers. Additionally, LRC continuously monitors
investment and acquisition opportunities with best-in-class legal- and business-service
companies compatible with LRC's core competencies and culture.
